Track Athletes Advance to State

The boys at Regionals did really well, so well that they won the Regional Track Meet for the 1st time with a total of 54 points. The following students qualify as State Qualifiers.

  • Kaden Kenney- 2nd place in Shot Put with a throw of 55'0".
  • Corey Rider- 2nd place in Triple Jump with a jump of 43'7.5"
  • Caine Stanley- 1st place in 200 m with a time of 21.28 s
  • Matthew Tyeskie- 1st place in 300 m Hurdles with time of 38.18 s and 3rd place (Wild Card) in 110 m Hurdles with a time of 14.73 s

And as for the girls, Kaleeia Johnson won 1st place in the Shot Put with a throw of 38'10". She will be going to state.

The UIL’s State Track & Field Championships will be on Thursday, May 6, Friday, May 7, and Saturday, May 8. Class 4A will compete on May 6 at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas in Austin.

“Well, we lost the district championship on the last event. We lost area on the last event. And now I guess it’s fitting that we won regional on last event. Every dog gets his day in the sunshine, I guess.” says Coach Lane.
