Senior Bailey Green recently learned she is a National Merit Finalist.
"This is what I have been waiting for," Green said. "This pays for all four years of my undergrad entirely, including my housing and food. It's exciting."
There are 15,000 finalists total in America. From that number, the NMSC (National Merit Scholarship Corporation) will select the National Merit Scholars from this group and they will receive an additional $2500 scholarship.
Colleges tend to give their own scholarships to students in the final stages of the competition as incentives to bring them in.
