Let's give a big Bulldog welcome to Coach Mika Hubbard!

Coach Mika Hubbard will be the Head Volleyball &  Head Girls' Track Coach while also serving as the Athletic Girls’ Coordinator. She graduated from Smithson Valley HS in Spring Branch, TX where she played volleyball and club volleyball. Mika continued her volleyball career while attending Howard Payne University graduating with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. She received the ASC Scholar-Athlete Medal of Honor Award in 2012 for her contributions to the school and volleyball program. She was only the second player in HPU history to exceed 1000 kills and 1000 digs. She was ASC West Division Freshman of the Year in 2008, a two-time 1st team All West Division, and a two-time 2nd team All West Division selection.  She was also a member of Sigma Beta Delta(Business Honor Society). 

Coach Hubbard has led the volleyball teams at Shepherd, Gary, Shelbyville and Brook Hill securing a District Championship, two District Runner-Up finishes, two Regional Tournament appearances, two Area appearances and one Bi-District finalist finish. Coach Hubbard finished her last season at Brook Hill with an overall record of 32-13. 

Coach Hubbard is married to college sweetheart, Zach Hubbard, Head Bulldog Baseball coach, and they have 2 children who are also joining the Bulldog family - Trent ‘33 and Taylor ‘37. When not on the field or in the gym, Zach and Mika enjoy making memories with their family at the lake or the beach. 

The Hubbard family is very  excited to be joining the Kilgore Bulldog family! We are appreciative of the opportunity to become part of such a welcoming and passionate community. We look forward to contributing to the success of the athletic programs and building relationships with our athletes and their families. Go Bulldogs!
